Shelter Volunteer
As a non-profit organization, The Lost Companion would not exist without the hard work of our volunteers. We have no paid staff at TLC. Shelter volunteers perform routine and basic animal care duties and report directly to the Volunteer Coordinator. Shifts are assigned morning or evening on a once per week basis. Start times are flexible.
All volunteers must meet the following requirements:
Typical Duties:
Foster Families
TLC depends on our foster families to provide homes for animals either waiting for adoption or waiting to come into the Adoption Center. Volunteers agree to take a cat(s) into their home until adoption placement is made or there is room to bring the cat(s) into the Adoption Center. During this time, TLC provides for the needs of the animal; including food, litter, and veterinary care. The foster family agrees to provide love and shelter during this time and to treat the pet as a member of their family.
